 Arabella Wines situated in Robertson, South Africa is owned and operated by the de Wet family. The goal of the Arabella wine making estate is to make award winning wines at affordable prices. The Arabella name was chosen in honor of the beautiful Arabian horses that grace the fields of the estate. Below are the awards Arabella has won for its wines.

At present Arabella has about 200 hectares of vineyards. Their main varieties are Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and Chardonnay. They use the vertical trellis system and their vines are developed on a cordon. Bearing canes are carefully spaced to ensure adequate ventilation in the canopy without exposing the bunches to unnecessary sunlight. They add no fertilizer before the harvest and irrigation is done conservatively, as they believe excessive vigour to be the biggest deterrent to quality grape production. Arabella's soils tend to be calcareous with a very high potassium content; the calcium gives good acidity while the potassium ensures a firm cell structure.To this end they do everything possible to ensure that the grapes which they receive into their cellar are of the very best quality. It is impossible to make good wine from substandard and unripe grapes.
